TRUST: You Have Been Told the Best Secret in the World

Dictionary.com defines secret as something that is or is kept secret, hidden, or concealed. We all know a secret means. There are all kinds of secrets. There are those among friends. There are military secrets or national secrets. Then, there have been spiritual secrets. God, in His divine wisdom, chose to conceal how He would provide for the sins of man, but Christ is that revelation. Jesus told His disciples as such in Matthew 13. He says, “16 But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.17 For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.” TRUST: You Have Been Told the Best Secret in the World.

Mark 9

And he said to them, “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see that the kingdom of God has come with power.”

After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus.

Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” (He did not know what to say, they were so frightened.)

Then a cloud appeared and covered them, and a voice came from the cloud:“This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!”

Suddenly, when they looked around, they no longer saw anyone with them except Jesus.

As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus gave them orders not to tell anyone what they had seen until the Son of Man had risen from the dead. 10 They kept the matter to themselves, discussing what “rising from the dead” meant.

11 And they asked him, “Why do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?”

12 Jesus replied, “To be sure, Elijah does come first, and restores all things. Why then is it written that the Son of Man must suffer much and be rejected? 13 But I tell you, Elijah has come, and they have done to him everything they wished, just as it is written about him.”

TRUST: You Have Been Told the Best Secret in the World. What will you do with the truth you have been told about Jesus? There are only two responses:1 receive Him, 2. reject Him. The choice you make will determine your eternal estate. If you receive Him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God (John 1:12) You will spend eternity living with God as John tells us “Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” If you reject Him, He will reject you in eternity. John 3:36 says, “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.”
