Ambassadors: Our Words are God’s Word

For those of us who have committed our lives to God through Jesus as Savior and Lord, we know that our calling is to honor God as His Ambassadors. 2 Corinthians 5 tells us “1For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. 16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.”

God has appointed us who follow Christ as Ambassadors. As a high official sent by the Sovereign Lord, we must use His Word in our reconciliation mission.  As such, we must turn one of God’s greatest Ambassadors – the Apostle Paul.

Romans 15:17-20

17 Therefore I glory in Christ Jesus in my service to God. 18 I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done— 19 by the power of signs and wonders, through the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ. 20 It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation.”

Just as Paul credits The Father, The Son and the Spirit for his ministry, we too must see that as Ambassadors:  Our Words are God’s Word.If Jesus spoke what he heard from God, and Paul spoke what he read, saw and heard from God, we must do likewise as Ambassadors. If you know Jesus as Lord and Savior, then you have been appointed as an Ambassadors. Our words must be God’s Word.
