Serve the Lord with Gladness

I am not sure what this day holds for me, but I am sure how God wants me to approach the day. He has said in Psalm 100 Serve the Lord with Gladness. It a difficult thing when we don’t feel we have anything to be glad about. Take this elixir.

Psalm 100

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
    Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his[a];
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Beyond looking at the benefits listed in this Psalm, we are commanded to serve the Lord with gladness which means joy, mirth, gladness and pleasure. If the folks at Chick-Fil-A can sell you a chicken sandwich with pleasure, how much more should we serve the LORD God with pleasure.

I want you to know that 8 years ago on Father’s Day my son was born. Father’s Day will forever be different for me because God wanted my son to know that the greatest Father thought of Him on that special day. It was a reminder to my son and to me that God the Father would always be there for us no matter how dark the day. His light is brighter.

Folks, God’s light is brighter than your darkest moment. Stop for a moment just to allow Him to shine in your heart and you will Serve the Lord with Gladness. Enough said. I am out.
