Do You Want To Come Before the Throne?

In the post There is the Right Way to God, we saw that the only means for man to be declared righteous was provided by God through Christ Jesus.  A couple of verses contained in Romans 3:19-24 clearly conveys that to us: 21 But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. It is important to understand righteousness as a prerequisite to enter into the presence of God. No unrighteous and ungodly person can come into the presence of God. (Job 13:16)

Since we know that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, what hope doe we have of coming before the throne of God? God keeps telling us that it is through Christ that man has access to the Father and all that the Father affords us. Listen to what Hebrews 4:16 tells us: Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” At what moment in your life does not a plethora of needs exists? We are always in need, but we know there are times that are more urgent than others. When you are facing spiritual, physical, relational, emotional and financial hardships, I believe we all want an audience with God. We cannot have an audience with God if the conditions are not right.

What are the right conditions to come before the throne of God? We have see what lies ahead of verse 16. Listen to the Lord

14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. 16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

We have to have Jesus, the Son of God, as our High Priest. We have to have professed faith in Jesus as the Son of God who died for our sins to give us access to the Father. If so, God himself has told us that we can have confidence in approaching the throne. Confidence of being heard; confidence of not perishing before a holy God as some did under the law; confidence of God understanding that we need Him and He would respond.

Do you want to come before the throne?  Then, you must profess faith in Jesus as the Son of God who saves you from the consequences of your sin and gives you access to present your concerns to the Father. There is the Right Way to God and only Jesus is it.
